The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had quarterback Baker Mayfield mic’d up during his youth football camp last week.
While much of the attention centered on his comments about contract extension talks with Tampa Bay, the released footage also captured a lighter side of Mayfield interacting with young fans.

He’s even doling out fantasy football advice, helping the next generation of football fans win their leagues in 2026.
Baker Mayfield shares fantasy football advice with young Bucs fans
A young camp attendee appeared to give Mayfield some blame for his fantasy team, which had Mayfield as the quarterback, having a losing season last year.
In typical Mayfield fashion, he jokingly fired right back at the fan, and gave him some helpful fantasy advice in the process.
“Don’t draft a quarterback in the first round. That’s why your team’s not doing well,” Mayfield said. “You’ve got to go running back or receiver first round, you know this. Don’t blame me. You had a bad draft.”
Mayfield finished as the QB12 in fantasy football last season, just a year removed from finishing as the QB3 in 2024.
Settling into a familiar offense under play caller Zac Robinson, who Mayfield spent time with in his stint with the Los Angeles Rams, could see a return to fantasy glory for Mayfield.
Robinson is expected to incorporate aspects of Liam Coen’s 2024 offense into his new scheme — the same system that saw Mayfield have the most productive season of his career.
So while Baker Mayfield remains a solid fantasy option heading into 2026, he might be the first to tell you not to spend a first-round pick on him.
