The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 44-32 to the Buffalo Bills in Week 11, and while the loss was certainly disappointing, there were still some bright spots for Tampa Bay.
Among them was left tackle Tristan Wirfs, who played a pivotal role in the team recording a season-high 202 yards on the ground.
Bills players couldn’t help but take notice of Wirfs’ dominance throughout the game, as revealed by a Mic’d Up video released by the team.

“Wirfs is the biggest thoroughbred from Iowa I’ve ever seen,” said Bills offensive tackle Spencer Brown, who is also from Iowa. “They’re running right behind Wirfs’ big a**. Why wouldn’t you? His legs are redwoods.”
When asked about Brown’s complimentary remarks caught on film, Wirfs returned the favor.

“I mean, [Spencer Brown] is a thoroughbred from Iowa too,” Wirfs said. “He’s 6’8,” he runs like a deer, I don’t know what he’s talking about. I appreciate the kind words. The redwood comment, that was funny. He’s a freak too; he’s a tall drink of water, but yeah, it was funny.”
Throughout the game, Brown continued to take note of Wirfs’ excellence.
“So, Wirfs is good at football. That was pretty disgusting,” he said after Wirfs laid a massive pancake block on safety Jordan Poyer to clear the way for running back Sean Tucker on a 43-yard touchdown run.
“So let me get this straight. He’s got a full head of hair. He’s rich. Good at football. Pretty good start."
Seeing opposing players fawn over Wirfs is reminiscent of when Buccaneers players were caught praising Patrick Mahomes during Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl LV win over the Chiefs, with Chris Godwin even calling him a magician.
It’s another reminder of how universally respected Wirfs is throughout the league, and he’s earned all the praise. After all, he remains the only player in NFL history to be named All-Pro at both right tackle and left tackle.
Pro Football Focus currently has him ranked as the sixth-best offensive tackle in 2025, and he’s the highest-graded pass blocker since 2024.
Simply put, Wirfs keeps proving he’s built different, and the Bills players’ reactions say it all.
