It seems like not that long ago, but we're about to celebrate the five year anniversary of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning a Super Bowl. So much has happened since the Bucs hoisted the Lombardi Trophy back in 2020, including players from that team moving on and finding new places to call home.

Tom Brady retiring was the most notable change, but it was one that helped usher in what has been a successful new era for the team. Guys like Devin White, Mike Edwards, Jordan Whitehead, Carlton Davis, and Alex Cappa have all found new teams -- and a few have done second tours of duty in Tampa -- and the list keeps on growing, even with players fans might have forgotten about.

This week, the Denver Broncos brought in former Bucs long snapper Zach Triner and signed him to a free agent deal. It's not an earth-shattering move, but it's notable in that another former Super Bowl champion is on the move -- and has landed with a former rival of Tampa Bay.

It shouldn't be lost on anyone that Sean Payton is bringing in a below-the-fold player from the Bucs roster, even if it doesn't feel like a needle mover at the moment. After all it's the little things that addup for winning teams and special teams is a big part of that.

Bucs fans will remember Triner for his time during the Tom Brady era, but he ended up spending a total of six seasons in Tampa Bay. He bounced around a but during his final year with the team, first getting released in training camp after losing his job to Evan Deckers before returning in Novemeber as an injury replacement. That stint didn't last long and he eventually ended up on the Miami Dolphins practice squad.

That didn't last long either, but now he lands with the Broncos and a coach in Payton who might be able to tap back into what Triner had with the Bucs. Long snapper is often a thankless job, but hte fact that Triner was able to stick around Tampa as long as he did says a lot.

If nothing else, it's nice to see someone from that 2020 Super Bowl team not only land on their feet, but in a spot where they might be able to flourish.
