Buccaneers' best Kenyon Sadiq alternative is quietly becoming crystal clear

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers miss out on Kenyon Sadiq, there is another star tight end they could pivot to.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers can go in so many directions with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and while Todd Bowles' defense needs the most reinforcements in the squad this April, the Bucs could very well land a beefy interior offensive lineman or a star pass catcher to improve Baker Mayfield's already talented supporting cast further.

A name on the offensive side of the ball that keeps on surfacing, even as the wide receivers become more popular mocks to Tampa Bay, is Oregon Ducks alumn Kenyon Sadiq. The dynamic tight end prospect is still the consensus No. 1 player at the position and very much in play for the Bucs at No. 15, especially after big man Mike Evans' betrayal to the San Francisco 49ers.

But there are other value tight ends the Buccaneers can go for later in the draft, and should Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht opt for a defensive player or someone else in the first round, Mayfield could still get an ideal complement to Cade Otton on Day 2.

Oscar Delp should be on Buccaneers' radar during 2026 NFL Draft

NFL Spin Zone's Jared Feinberg compiled a list of the most intriguing draft prospects in the 2026 draft, naming one player at each position. And for the tight end spot, he chose someone the Bucs recently worked out, Georgia Bulldogs grad Oscar Delp.

Feinberg thinks Delp is a serious talent despite his lack of collegiate production, and he praises his athleticism in the passing game while calling him a plus as a blocker. He even dubbed Delp the "heir apparent" to Brock Bowers, the Las Vegas Raiders sensation who is already one of the elite weapons at the tight end position in the NFL.

When actually watching Oscar Delp run routes and move with the ball in his hands, it's hard not to agree with Feinberg that the Georgia product has that something special about him. For Licht and the Buccaneers, the key on draft day is identifying guys who are undervalued, and because of his lack of reps, Delp's stats are artificially deflated and obfuscate the quality of the player.

Delp has the potential to be elite and is one of the scariest tight end prospects in the draft class. Like Kenyon Sadiq, Delp is well rounded and highly athletic, with the explosiveness to make serious big plays in the passing game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be wise to keep him in mind.
