The 2025 season has been a rough one for Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Mike Evans. After injuring his hamstring in Week 3, the veteran wideout missed three games before returning in Week 7 for Tampa Bay’s Monday night game against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, Evans sustained a broken clavicle in the game, and is expected to miss most of the remainder of the season.
While that’s a tough reality that no one wants to face, Buccaneers fans showed up in a big way to support Evans after his injury. In less than 24 hours, fans donated $13,000 to the Mike Evans Family Foundation. The Foundation’s social media page sent out a thank you to fans, saying, “We seriously cannot thank Bucs fans enough. We love you so much, Krewe.”
Buccaneers fans donate to Mike Evans' foundation after his injury
The Mike Evans Family Foundation was founded by Evans and his wife Ashli, “to make a difference in the lives of children in need and families impacted by domestic violence.” The foundation was first established back in 2017, during the receivers fourth season in the NFL. He has done a ton of work in the community with his foundation throughout the years, and that will continue, with the helpful donations from Tampa Bay’s fans.
While the Evans family continues to do good work off the field, the wideout will surely be hard at work, hoping to make a late season return. Evans wasn’t given a concerte timeline, but head coach Todd Bowles did leave the door open for a late season return. With the Buccaneers currently playing like one of the best teams in the league, Evans could be back in time for a playoff run.
The good news is that Tampa Bay has depth in the wide receiver room, which has already been on display because of several injuries. Those wideouts have big shoes to fill, but hopefully Evans will be able to rejoin them on the field at some point this season.
