Thankfully, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not at the epicenter of one of the league's most polarizing and dramatized storylines of the offseason.
Instead, it's the Pittsburgh Steelers who get to deal with Aaron Rodgers, and it just so happens that they are the first preseason opponent for Tampa Bay.
When most are focused on the Buccaneers' regular season schedule and trying to predict how the year will shake out, it's worth mentioning the preseason, especially when there will be storylines up for grabs.
If Aaron Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, the Buccaneers get a firsthand look
Of course, Rodgers doesn't play in the preseason. So, forget seeing him on the field in this one. That isn't happening.
But, for those wanting to see just exactly how he will look in a Steelers uniform, this might just be the game we get our first crack at it.
This offseason, most of what we have heard from the standpoint of Rodgers has revolved more around his personal life. He claims not to have any desire to hold the Steelers up, although we're well past the 2025 NFL Draft and he has yet to make a decision.
I guess that's just par for the course with a player like Rodgers. What is it with former Packers quarterbacks and prolonging their decisions and/or changing their mind?
If, for some reason, Rodgers ends up making a different decision, the Buccaneers will be seeing the likes of Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard trot out for Pittsburgh.
The one thing we know for certain, amid all of the Rodgers drama in Pittsburgh, is the fact that the Bucs don't have anything anywhere close to worry about on their roster. In fact, they're bringing back all 11 offensive starters from last year and are in much better shape at quarterback.
Just sayin'.
