Buccaneers GM celebrated win over Saints by dunking on Cam Jordan (again!)

Jason Licht really doesn’t like the Saints, and he took to social media to rub salt in the wound after the Buccaneers’ 23-3 win over New Orleans.

In recent years, as the rivalry between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints reached its peak, Saints defensive end Cam Jordan has done his best to downplay the rivalry every chance he gets.

“Is there a rivalry with the Bucs I don’t know about? … our only real rivalry is with (Atlanta) & that’s not really a rivalry,” Jordan said via ESPN’s Katherine Terrell in 2023.

But while doing his best to act unfazed and unbothered about the apparently nonexistent rivalry, (an unconvincing facade by the way), Jordan has also stirred the pot by taking countless shots at the Buccaneers.

Most infamously, Jordan wrongly predicted Tampa Bay would return to the cellar of the NFC South following Tom Brady’s retirement after the 2022 season.

"We're glad he's out of the division," Jordan told NFL Netwkrk’s Cameron Wolfe. "Tampa Bay will probably go back to... where Tampa Bay has been."

Instead, it’s the Saints who have lived in the basement of the NFC South. Since Brady retired, Tampa Bay has won consecutive NFC South titles and is cruising toward a third. The Bucs are 4-1 against the Saints in that period.

The Saints are 15-27 since the start of the 2023 season, while the Buccaneers are 25-17 in that span.

Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht is a man that keeps receipts, and he made sure to let the world know he remembered Jordan’s comments. After the Bucs blew out the Saints 23-3 in Week 8, Licht posted the clip of Jordan predicting the Bucs’ downfall to social media.

At the end of the clip, Licht savagely included Jordan’s blank stat sheet, which included a grand total of one assisted tackle against the Bucs and zero impact plays in Week 8. Along with Jordan’s donut on the stat sheet is an audio clip of laughter in the background. Licht is literally laughing at Jordan!

Maybe Jordan is right — the Bucs and Saints aren’t rivals, since a rivalry is supposed to be competitive. After all, Tampa Bay is fighting for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while the Saints are in contention for the No. 1 draft pick.

The Bucs have won their last four games in New Orleans, and Licht is happy to rub salt in the wound as Tampa Bay continues its recent dominance over New Orleans.
