The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft hoping to add a cornerback to improve the depth at the position.

They got their guy in Miami cornerback Keionte Scott. The physical defensive back was projected as a consensus Day 2 pick, and the Bucs got yet another steal, landing him in the fourth round.

Scott measures in at 5-foot-11 and runs a blazing 4.33 40-yard dash.

He earned an elite 90.5 PFF grade in 2025, ranking third among all cornerbacks in the nation.

He’s one of the best blitzers and most willing run defenders you’ll ever see from the cornerback spot, where he primarily plays the nickel role. His 91.4 run defense grade ranked second in the nation.

Scott recorded 13 tackles for loss and five sacks in 2025. He had five passes defended and caught two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns.

Scott is quite literally the dream fit for Todd Bowles’ blitz-heavy defensive scheme.

He played special teams in all four seasons in college, so not only does he provide much-needed cornerback depth, but he’ll have an early role as a potential special teams ace.

deThe Buccaneers’ 2026 NFL Draft has been an absolute home run through their first four picks. They’ve filled their biggest needs on defense, landing edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., linebacker Josiah Trottert, and now a physical cornerback in Scott.

With their one offensive selection, they landed one of the most explosive receiving threats in the nation in Ted Hurst.

The Buccaneers roster is already worlds better than it was just a season ago, and they still have three more draft picks to make before it’s all said and done.
