The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bleeding badly. Already 0-4 with a tough schedule ahead, the injuries are starting to pile up.
Tampa Bay will go on the road to play the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. It's a small window for players to get healthy enough to practice.
The Bucs have already ruled out several players, but the one surprising addition to the report is kicker Chase McLaughlin.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers final injury report ahead of Thursday night's Week 5 matchup.
The good news is that Rueben Bain Jr. has returned to practice. Bain, who has been dealing with a groin issue, was a full participant this week, giving him the green light to play against the Cowboys. There is far more excitement in seeing if Bain can turn the last two missed games into motivation to step up his game.
Bain has registered one tackle all season. No Buccaneers fans saw that coming. At least he is back where he can hopefully give the defensive front a boost against the Dak Prescott-led offense.
The Buccaneers ruled out safety Antonine Winfield Jr. on Wednesday. Further crippling an already suspect secondary. Winfield is the leader in the defensive backfield. He suffered a rib injury against the Packers last weekend. We already knew that Baker Mayfield would be out this week. The count is currently at four players ruled out.
The surprise addition is McLaughlin. The Buccaneers' kicker has a groin issue. He missed practice all of this week, but was able to participate in Wednesday's walkthrough. The Buccaneers need him on the field Thursday night. His status for the game looks to be progressing toward playing.
The Buccaneers have not entertained other options at the position, but a groin injury can be easily aggravated, especially by a kicker.
SirVocea Dennis has also been ruled out for the game as he continues to deal with an ankle and foot injury. The Buccaneers need all the linebacker help they can get.
The cornerback room also has a player out. Benjamin Morrison gets the early Week 5 pass as he recovers from a quad injury.
The rest of the injuries are not considered serious. Only Anthony Nelson was limited in practice.
On the other side of the field, the Cowboys have ruled out CB Cobie Durant, LB DeMarvion Overshown, and tackle Drew Shelton. WR Jonathan Mingo and guard Tyler Smith are questionable. The rest of the players on the report were full participants.
