Just when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed it, a major boost is coming to the offense ahead of a big matchup against the Patriots.

Per Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have removed starting right tackle Luke Goedeke from the injured reserve list, indicating he’ll play in Week 10 against the New England Patriots.

Goedeke hasn’t played since Week 2, when he re-aggravated a foot injury that he initially injured in the season opener. The importance of getting back their star right tackle can’t be overstated. In Goedeke’s absence, the Buccaneers have been relying on Charlie Heck.

Per Pro Football Focus, Heck ranks as the No. 70 offensive tackle in the NFL out of 75 qualifying players, and has surrendered more pressures than any other player in the NFL this season.

Perhaps nobody will be happier about the news than Baker Mayfield, who has had to run for his life far too often this season.

Having Goedeke back to anchor the right side of the offensive line should make it easier for Mayfield to get comfortable in the pocket and trust his protection, which should have a massive impact for the offense.

There will be no grace period for Goedeke, as the Buccaneers will be relying on him against a tough Patriots defense in his return to action.

He will be facing New England’s edge rusher duo of Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson, who each have 5.5 sacks this season.

It will be a difficult matchup for the Buccaneers against the 7-2 Patriots, who rank No. 1 against the run and No. 9 in total defense, and Tampa Bay will be ecstatic to enter the gauntlet with Goedeke back in the lineup.
