Trey Hendrickson has requested a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals and if he's truly about to be on the move, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to be on the phone with his agent immediately. The Bucs have a clear need in the pass-rushing department and Hendrickson could be a great fix for them.

Bucs fans are no strangers to seeing what Hendrickson can do, as he spent the first four years of his career with the Saints. In 2020, Hendrickson's true potential was unleashed, as the then-Saints pass-rusher took the league by storm and racked up 13.5 sacks.

The good news is that he left the division after that season and joined the Bengals where he morphed into one of the best pass-rushers in the entire league. Hendrickson is coming off back-to-back seasons with 17.5 sacks and it just so happens that Tampa Bay desperately needs help when it comes to sacking the quarterback.

Bucs need to add Trey Hendrickson to their pass-rush ASAP

The best options for the Bucs right now are Calijah Kancey and Yaya Diaby, who combined for 12 sacks last year. Former first-rounder Joe Tryon-Shoyinka didn't pan out the way Bucs fans were hoping and he'll more than likely be departing in free agency.

Some fans like the idea of bringing in Khalil Mack, who had 6.0 sacks last year and Joey Bosa is an intriguing name to consider as well. Hendrickson, however, while more expensive, is going to bring instant relief to a sore spot on the roster. Shockingly, the Bengals have given Hendrickson permission to seek a trade somewhere and the Buccaneers fit the criteria of a team they'd be willing to send him to (not in the same division or conference as Cincinnati).

This wouldn't be a cheap acquisition for Tampa but there is absolutely no debating that trading for Trey Hendrickson makes the Buccaneers a better team. If the goal is to win Super Bowls, bringing this guy in makes all the sense in the world.
