While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were squaring off against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football in October, another player's home was being burglarized. According to recent reports, the same group of men who burglarized the homes of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Travis Kelce, as well as other NFL and NBA players, also hit a Bucs player in their crime spree.

"In addition to the burglaries at the homes of Mahomes, Kelce and Portis, the FBI linked the theft group to an October 2024 burglary of a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player while the team was playing the Baltimore Ravens in Tampa, according to the complaint. The thieves stole items worth $167,000, according to the complaint."

According to reports, the burglars had a clear system in place, hitting the victims' homes whenever they were on the road or playing in a game because they knew no one would be home. From there, they'd go for the most expensive items, such as jewelry and watches.

The first two homes burglarized were Mahomes and Kelce's with the unnamed Bucs player's home being robbed the following week while Tampa was hosting Monday Night Football. Less than a month later, a Milwaukee Bucks player had his home burglarized and in December, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was the next victim.

The good news is that charges have been made against seven men for these crimes. The bad news is that this is probably not going to be the last time something like this happens. It's unfortunate that professional athletes now have to worry about their homes being broken into and their personal belongings being stolen.
