Antoine Winfield Jr. was one of only two Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected to participate in the Pro Bowl.

Winfield recorded 53 total tackles, a sack, and two interceptions during the 2025 campaign en route to his second career Pro Bowl appearance, where he made a big impact for the NFC during the exhibition game.

Antoine Winfield Jr. named NFL Pro Bowl MVP

Winfield represented Tampa Bay well during the Pro Bowl, making a game sealing play that ultimately helped him win Defensive MVP.

He intercepted a pass from Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter that helped seal the win for the NFC. The play prompted an epic reaction from Green Bay Packers EDGE Micah Parsons, who was sidelined with an injury but showed up for the festivities anyway.

Buccaneers need another Pro Bowl effort from Antoine Winfield Jr. in 2026

Despite reaching the Pro Bowl, Winfield didn't quite have the impact that Bucs fans have become accustomed to throughout his career.

He graded out as the NFL's 14th-ranked safety per Pro Football Focus, which was solid, but failed to live up to the sky-high standard he has set for himself over the years.

2024 was an injury-plagued season for Winfield in which he only played 9 games, but back in 2023, Winfield had one of the most impactful safety seasons of all time and ranked as PFF's No. 1 overall safety. He recorded 122 total tackles, 3 interceptions, and 4 forced fumbles and earned First-Team AP All-Pro honors. The Bucs are hoping to see that version of Winfield return next season.

Tampa Bay's passing defense ranked 27th in the NFL in 2025, and ranked 20th in scoring defense, allowing 24 points per game. If Winfield, as the leader of the defense and its highest-paid player, can flash his All-Pro potential more consistently next season, it would go a long way in helping the Buccaneers' defense improve massively as a unit.

His strong performance in the Pro Bowl provides some much-needed momentum for Winfield heading into the offseason and could serve as a foundation as he looks to return to his heroic form as the star of Tampa Bay’s defense next season.
