Two years ago the Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought back their vintage creamsicle uniforms, something that was initially met with some joy. It had been since 2012 that the Bucs donned their throwbacks, so from that perspective it was nice to see them make a return.

It wasn't, however, a triumphant one.

Back-to-back seasons of bringing the creamsicles back have seen the Bucs lose the game in which they wore them. In 2023, the Bucs were thumped by the Detroit Lions in a game that was flexed because it involved a pair of first-place teams, and last year, the Atlanta Falcons held off a late surge by Tampa Bay.

A cherry on top of that is that both games were part of midseason losing streaks that nearly derailed all of the success Tampa Bay had found in the weeks leading up. This has all put a rather negative spin on the idea of the Bucs wearing their throwbacks, and it's something at least one player is hoping to change.

Rachaad White wants the Buccaneers to end their creamsicle losing streak

White walked and talked with Frank The Tank at Barstool and dropped a little truth bomb about the creamsicles. It's not that he dislikes them or wants the uniforms to go away; he wants to end the Bucs' miserable losing streak when wearing them.

“We love them too, we got to get a dub in them this year. We ain’t got a dub in them the past two years we wore them," White said.

It's a sentiment very much shared by the fanbase in Tampa. While the creamsicles are widely regarded as one of the cleanest throwbacks around, Bucs fans dread seeing them donned since the team seems to always lose whenever they get dusted off.

White isn't saying anything earth-shattering here, but it's nice to know that players in the locker room are equally upset with how things have gone when wearing the creamsicles. It sounds like the uniforms are once again coming back in 2025, perhaps with a bit of a different look, which gives White and the Bucs a chance to finally break a streak everyone in Tampa Bay would love to see end.
