PFF finally released its entire top 101 list from 2025 performances, and it's all over the place. From wide receivers with elite production being cast aside, to record-breaking running back production not mattering, it feels like a fifth grader put together this list.
With emotions aside, it's insane that the Buccaneers only have two mentioned in the entire list. Jamel Dean and Tristan Wirfs are the only two Tampa Bay players to make the cut. Let's dissect where they were placed, and if it's fair:
For some reason, Jamel Dean was placed at No. 78, and the 8th-best cornerback in 2025. Bucs fans know his restructured contract from last season was a complete mistake, especially after his elite season.
Jamel Dean is a top 5 cornerback in the NFL, and PFF won't recognize it
Through 14 games, Dean allowed a 63.1 passer rating, 49.2 completion percentage, three interceptions and just two touchdowns. This was by far his best season since 2021, and he'll certainly be paid well this offseason.
Looking at this list, it's astonishing that Dean is so low. He has better pass coverage numbers than Mike Jackson (48th), Kamari Lassiter (55th), and Ja'Quan McMillian (67th). While the header of this article claims it's only based on the 2025 season, it's hard to believe that PFF truly refrained from precedental judgement with this ranking.
Dean was also ranked as the 3rd cornerback overall in the 2025 season by PFF's grading system. It's truly hard to fathom why Dean is so low based on statistics and PFF's own grades. I'd slot Dean in the 50's range, but ahead of Jackson and Lassiter for sure.
Tristan Wirfs is listed as the No. 15 player on this list and the third-best offensive tackle in 2025. This is the most respectable ranking on the list. Wirfs has been a perennial Pro-Bowler the last five seasons and made a name for himself as one of the best tackles in the league.
In 2025, PFF ranked him as the second-best tackle in the league after he allowed just two sacks. His one downside is penalties, with five false starts last season. Despite being a 2024 first-team All-Pro, Wirfs was not selected on either AP team this season.
This is shocking based on his PFF grades. Wirfs received the fourth-highest pass block grade among tackles and third highest run block grade in 2025 per PFF. Although he wasn't entirely recognized by the league after another incredible season, it's exciting to see Wirfs being respected in this spot.
