The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had an eventful start to free agency, as they brought in running back Kenneth Gainwell and linebacker Alex Anzalone. But they had some notable departures in long-time wide receiver Mike Evans heading to the San Francisco 49ers and cornerback Jamel Dean to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Between all of the news, the Buccaneers had to make an announcement regarding wide receiver Emeka Egubka. And it had nothing to do with football.

On Wednesday, the Buccaneers' Communications Department announced that a Twitter account claiming to be Egbuka is not owned or used by the wide receiver. This comes as the account in question tweeted out "is CTE even real."

For fans wondering if Egbuka has a Twitter account at all, the answer is no, as ESPN's Jenna Laine confirmed after speaking with the Buccaneers. So, be sure to mute or block the account as necessary to ensure you don't get duped into thinkiing that the Twitter account in question is actually Egbuka.

This is the last thing the Buccaneers had to be dealing with, especially as the start of the league year kicked off at 4:00 p.m ET on Wednesday.

With Evans no longer on the Buccaneers, the expectation is that Egbuka will take on an even larger role in Tampa Bay's offense. As the first-round pick last year, Egbuka made an immediate impact. As a rookie, Egbuka recorded 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns on 127 targets. Even with the great year, Egbuka did not receive consideration for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

It will be interesting to see what the Buccaneers do for the remainder of the offseason. But remember, if you see a Twitter account claiming to be Egbuka, it's not them.
