The Tampa Bay Buccaneers can get some sweet revenge against the limp Houston Texans in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL Season. The Buccaneers won an exciting game in Week 1 over the Atlanta Falcons. It was a huge NFC South victory and already puts them in a great spot in the division, as the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers also lost in Week 1.
In Week 2, the Buccaneers return to Houston and play against the Texans on Monday Night Football, and even though the Texans got beaten up in Week 1 against the LA Rams, it would not be wise for Tampa to overlook this team.
Offense has been hard to come by for the Texans ever since 2024, really, so this could give the Buccaneers a great chance at some sweet revenge against a team that broke their hearts back in 2023.
CJ Stroud led a game-winning drive against the Bucs back in 2023
With just 46 seconds left on the clock, then-rookie CJ Stroud executed a perfect game-winning drive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in one of the more brutal losses this team has had in quite some time:

CJ Stroud was a surgical 30/42 for 470 yards and five touchdowns against the Bucs' secondary in this one, and while Houston isn't the same team, they get this game at some and in favorable conditions. The Bucs' defense doesn't exact scare opponents, so this could be one of those vintage CJ Stroud games.
However, the Buccaneers do some into this game as the better, more complete team. Houston has been sputtering for over a year now, and the Bucs could 'hit them while they're down' if you will. In recent years, Tampa has bit a mid-season lull under Todd Bowles, and if that isn't going to change in 2025, racing out to a 2-0 start and getting some revenge on the Houston Texans would be a must.
