What's old is new again -- and incredibly cool.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are celebrating the franchise's 50th anniversary this season, but he true festivities are kicking off this Sunday. That's when the Bucs home opener is scheduled, and the clocks are getting turned back to 1976 in absolute style.

For the first time since the 90s, the Bucs are bringing back their white throwback uniforms and are hoping in the metaphorical DeLorean to dress Raymond James Stadium up for the occasion.

It's not the first time the team has gone all-out to celebrate wearing throwback uniforms, but this time things feel a little different. They look different, too, as the team officially unveiled what the stadium will look like for Sunday's game against the Jets and it's just flat out cool.

The Bucs brought back their creamsicle throwbacks for the first time since 2012 two seasons ago, and have had them as part of the uniform rotation ever since. This is the first time we're seeing the white throwbacks, though, and fans are hoping that the change will also bring about the end of a dreaded curse.

Since bringing the creamsicle uniforms back, the Bucs have yet to win while wearing them. They lost the re-introduction of the throwbacks back in Week 6 of the 2023 season and lost last year when the Falcons came to Tampa.

Breaking the curse on Sunday against the Jets would be more then just a monkey off everyone's back. It would propel the Bucs to their first 3-0 start since 2005 and would be exactly what the team needs given the rash of injuries that have already harshed everyone's buzz.

The Bucs lost Calijah Kancey and Cody Mauch to season-ending injuries last week, and will be without Luke Goedeke, Tristan Wirfs, and Chris Godwin as well. All of this, plus the inclusion of the throwbacks, makes it a ripe situation for a trap game but here's to hoping the Bucs can break another curse like they did last week after the team's first primetime win since 2022.

At the very least, this is a celebration of the team's 50th season, which is wild to think it's been that long. What better time to make a little history than when turning back the clock and honoring the past?
