For now until the end of time, whenever the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs meet there will be shades of Super Bowl 55 coloring everyone’s view. Bucs fans should be the biggest Chiefs fans on the planet whenever Kansas City ends up in a Super Bowl as to preserve the bragging rights of being the only team to ever beat them in the big game.

That’s not the case on Monday night, though.

Tampa Bay heads to Arrowhead for the first time since 2016 which is also the last time the Bucs have notched a regular season win against the Chiefs. Jameis Winston led an upset win that saw him throw for over 330 yards in a 19-17 win, which is the type of energy the Bucs are hoping to channel on Monday night.

For as down bad as Tampa Bay is right now, Baker Mayfield is playing like an MVP candidate. He has the most passing touchdowns in the league and has stats on par with Josh Allen and is surpassing Patrick Mahomes. It’s the Chiefs’ defense that will be the main issue for the Bucs, as Steve Spagnuolo‘s unit is allowing under 18 points per game and has kept the Chiefs in games they otherwise might have lost.

It’s something Bucs fans remember used to be the case with Todd Bowles’ defense, although things have fallen off as of late. There’s no better time for a bounce back than against the Chiefs, but that’s much easier said than done.

Who are the announcers for Buccaneers vs. Chiefs tonight?

It’s a Monday Night Football broadcast which means Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the traditional broadcast. That will be airing on ABC and ESPN, as well as ESPN+ for those who want to stream the game if they happen to be on the go or without cable.

That’s not the only way to watch, though. A ManningCast option is available on ESPN2, and will also be streaming on ESPN+.

Referees for Buccaneers vs. Chiefs on MNF in Week 9

Head Referee (Crew Chief)

For the 20th time in his his nearly two decade career, John Hussey will be officiating a game involving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s not particularly great news for the Bucs, who are 8-11 all-time when Hussey is part of the officiating crew.

The good news is that Tampa Bay is 2-0 in their last two games with Hussey, so perhaps that’s an omen for what might be in store.

Full Officiating Crew

Here's the rest of Hussey’s crew that will be on the field with him in Week 9:

  • Umpire: Tony Michalek
  • Down Judge: Max Causey
  • Line Judge: Carl Johnson
  • Side Judge: Allen Baynes
  • Field Judge: Anthony Flemming
  • Back Judge: Matt Edwards
