Last week was exactly the game the Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed to begin getting the season back on track. A blowout win over the Giants helped get the defense back into a groove that it will hopefully continue settling into for a game that the team should win if all goes well.

While the Carolina Panthers dragged the Kansas City Chiefs to the final moments of last week’s game, they’re still a team the Bucs outclass in almost every way. Defense is always a question mark and Bryce Young will likely make a few plays that enrage folks already calling for Todd Bowles’ job, but there’s no argument who the better team is.

Tampa Bay just needs to play like it on Sunday.

It will be a familiar face on the other sideline as Dave Canales is getting his first shot at revenge on the Buccaneers. Even though he voluntarily left this offseason, things haven’t gone great so far and getting a win over his former team and current division rival is the sort of thing that will serve as extra motivation the Bucs have to fight against in Week 13.

Who are the announcers for Buccaneers vs. Panthers today?

It’s an away game for the Bucs this week but a familiar voice will be on the call for FOX. Chris Myers is announcing his first Bucs games of the regular season but it’s not his first rodeo with the team this year. Myers is the preseason play-by-play announcer for Tampa Bay, and hearing him on the call this week will give fans a little taste of home on the road.

Mark Schlereth, who has always been a Bucs supporter especially when it comes to Baker Mayfield, will be alongside him in the booth.

Referees for Buccaneers vs. Panthers in Week 13

Head Referee (Crew Chief)

Tra Blake will be officiating just the fifth game of his career that involves the Buccaneers, with Tampa Bay having a favorable 3-1 record over that time. Even better is the fact that Blake was in charge of the game at Lambeau last season in which the Bucs beat Green Bay — with Baker Mayfield having a perfect passer rating — which helped get the season back on track amid a slump.

Coming off a resounding win over the Giants, the Bucs are primed to keep their foot on the gas and having Blake officiating the game feels like a good omen.

Full Officiating Crew

Here's the rest of Blake’s crew that will be on the field with him in Charlotte for Week 13:

  • Umpire: Carl Paganelli
  • Down Judge: Patrick Turner
  • Line Judge: Tom Eaton
  • Side Judge: Don Willard
  • Field Judge: Mearl Robinson
  • Back Judge: Grantis Bell

For what it’s worth, the Panthers are 0–5 in games with Tra Blake as the head official, so do with that what you will.

Buccaneers vs. Panthers TV channel and start time

The Bucs are back on FOX after a week over at CBS last Sunday against the Giants. It’s a good news/bad news situation as Tampa Bay is in the late window this week but will be up against the game everyone else will probably be watching.

Baltimore and Philadelphia are playing in the CBS late window opposite the Bucs, which means most eyes will be on that game. Perhaps that’s a good thing if the Bucs struggle, but it also fits the narrative of flying under the radar while everyone else is distracted.

  • Date: Sunday, December 1, 2024

It’s an away game but the voice of the Bucs preseason will be on the call giving everyone the sounds of a home game.
