Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were featured on Monday Night Football after starting the season on a hot streak, but this time, things feel a little different. While the Bucs were overachieving as they emerged from the shadow of the Tom Brady era, this time around the team seems to be outright good.

There's nothing flukey about the way the Bucs have started this season.

Baker Mayfield responded to signing a $100 million contract by starting the season out at an MVP pace, playing better than both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes -- the top two favorites to win the award through Week 7. Meanwhile, the offense has been on an absolute tear under the leadership of Liam Coen, who replaced Dave Canales better than anyone could have hoped.

Tampa Bay had the highest-scoring offense in the league heading into Week 7, and while that shifted a bit after the results of Sunday the point remains that they're a unit that needs to be taken seriously. Coming off a week where the Bucs dropped 51 points on the New Orleans Saints, Monday night's game offers a chance to prove they belong in conversation with other bonafide Super Bowl contenders.

Baltimore happens to be one of those teams, which always made this matchup important. However, thanks to the Falcons losing on Sunday the Bucs have a chance to take back control of the NFC South with a win as well as moving into the No. 2 seed in the playoff picture.

It's a massive game on a number of different levels, as so much is on the line for a team that seems ready to finally prove it deserves some respect.

Who are the announcers for Buccaneers vs. Ravens today?

While it might seem obvious who the announcers are on a Monday Night Football broadcast, Bucs fans actually have a few different options to choose from. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the traditional broadcast, which will air on ABC and ESPN. Meanwhile, Eli and Peyton Manning will be holding things down over on ESPN2 for this week's edition of ManningCast.

Referees for Buccaneers vs. Ravens

Head Referee (Crew Chief)

This week Alex Kemp will be the main official calling the game. It will be his 16th game involving the Buccaneers that he's called during his carer, which is a mix of good and bad news for Tampa Bay.

The Bucs have a 6-9 record in games where Kemp is on the officiating crew, which is bad on the macro. However, Tampa Bay is 4-0 since 2020 in games that Kemp is calling, with their last loss being the infamous Thursday Night game against the Bears where Tom Brady forgot how many downs there were.

Since then, it's been smooth sailing with Kemp which is hopefully a good omen for Monday night.

Full Officiating Crew

Here's the rest of Kemp's crew that will be on the field with him in Week 7:

  • Umpire: Mike Morton
  • Down Judge: Robert Richeson
  • Line Judge: Rusty Baynes
  • Side Judge: Lo van Pham
  • Field Judge: Sean Petty
  • Back Judge: Scott Helverson
