The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought their rosters down to 53-players by the 4:00 p.m. ET deadline on Tuesday. One of their first notable cuts was rookie safety and undrafted free agent Shilo Sanders. Sanders' last game saw him get ejected after throwing punches at Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson. Less than 24 hours later, Sanders was waived by the team, and could get claimed off the wire by Wednesday.

As Shilo waits for the chance to sign on with another team, his father, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, spoke out about his release from the Buccaneers. Deion expressed confidence in Shilo and his chances of staying in the NFL. But the team will make it back to the top of the

“I prepare my kids for anything and everything that can happen in life and in sports," Sanders told reporters on Tuesday, h/t Sports Illustrated. "That's part of fatherhood, that's part of parenting, that's part of having a relationship. He is mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be. We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with another team, but if he doesn't, the plans have already been put forward to what he's gonna do next. Shilo's a man of many talents. ... He's gonna be straight. All the Sanders are gonna be straight, with or without football."

Deion Sanders hopeful son Shilo gets another shot in NFL after getting waived by Buccaneers

Deion did express optimism that Shilo will get a chance with another team in the NFL, but he did say that his son is prepared for life "without football."

Shilo spent the last two seasons at Colorado playing for Deion. In that span, Shilo recorded 137 combined tackles (99 solo, 38 assisted), five forced fumbles, one interception, and two defensive touchdowns. Even though he played for Colorado, a team that garnered the national spotlight, Shilo went undrafted.

By joining the Buccaneers, Shilo had a lot of work to do, considering the talent they had at safety. His play in the preseason didn't exactly do him any favors, specifically when it came to tackling. Facing off against the Tennessee Titans, Shilo recorded one tackle, one quarterback hit, and one quarterback pressure, but missed a tackle, per Pro Football Focus. Then, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Shilo missed two tackles. To finish his preseason, Shilo was ejected for punching Davidson, which head coach Todd Bowles called "inexcusable."

It will be interesting to see if Shilo does end up on another team. Regardless, his father is confident he'll have another opportunity.
