The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look very different in the 2025 offseason after swapping out some big names in the last few months, though not everyone is too keen on the final vision of what Tampa Bay is trying to become after an offseason of change.
The biggest move of the offseason was bringing back wide receiver Chris Godwin despite some major interest from other teams. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka is now gone, and Tampa replaced him by taking a flier on Haason Reddick after his nightmarish time with the Jets.
These moves have not been very impressive in the eyes of former Buccaneers defensive back Logan Ryan, who gave this team a C+ when asked to grade what Jason Licht has done. Oddly enough, most of Ryan's comments on the offseason were quite positive, especially when he had to discuss the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ryan was a bit more complimentary of this team's draft, saying that he was a fan of their first two selections in both wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and cornerback Benjamin Morrison. Ryan did admit that he is a very hard grader, which could be one way to explain what seems like a very harsh mark.

Keeping Godwin was the biggest box this team had to check, and they did just that. While there is some reason to question the Egbuka pick and the fact the Bucs didn't add a starting inside linebacker while waiting until the fourth round to select a pass rusher, Egbuka's talent should win out.
The Bucs didn't need to hit a huge home run this offseason, as they already have dominion over what is still one of the worst divisions in football, if not the worst. However, if the goal is to take the leap from a good team to a contender, it is fair to say that Tampa failed to make that jump.
The Saints got rid of Dennis Allen, the Panthers finished the year strong while crushing the draft, and the Falcons are a legitimate threat to them. The Bucs' position atop the division is shakier than in year's past.
The Buccaneers should be in for another solid season in 2025, even after losing Liam Coen in the offseason, but Ryan isn't totally off base in harboring a great degree of skepticism when it comes to how Licht and Todd Bowles managed to go about beefing up this roster.
