The 2020 NFL season is the most nostalgic for many Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans because of how dominant the team was in that era with the GOAT, Tom Brady, at the helm, and although the Bucs had won the Super Bowl nearly 20 years earlier behind an equally nostalgic defense, there was something special about winning that second Super Bowl in Tampa Bay during what was otherwise a very dark time in the world.

Brady was the star of the show and had a ridiculously loaded group of skill position players he helped recruit to the Bay Area, but there were also some real cult heroes and underrated gems who stepped up in critical moments to help deliver a dominant season to the fans of the city.

Wide receiver Scotty Miller was one of those guys. All gas, no breaks, Miller was a scrappy wide receiver who was not afraid to take those bullets for Tommy B over the middle of the field, but he also had the speed and athleticism to burn defenses down the field, constantly working himself open for the greatest NFL player ever.

The Chicago Bears are bringing in Scotty Miller

Miller hasn't been in Tampa since 2022, but he has consistently been in the NFL. Last season, he caught a few passes for Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers en route to cracking the playoffs, and it looks like he could be back in the NFC next season with another playoff team.

Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the now 28 year old Scotty Miller was one of five players brought in by the Chicago Bears for the Rookie Minicamp this year on a tryout basis, meaning the Bears are scouting him out as possible veteran depth for Caleb Williams's wide receiver corps.

The Bears have one of the most talented groups of skill position players in the league to feed their breakout star QB, who is now flirting with Baker Mayfield as one of the best quarterbacks in the conference. Miller probably won't make the final roster for the Bears, but with his pedigree in the past for the Buccaneers and his experience in the NFL, it would not be wise to bet against him - after all, he's made it for years even after leaving the Buccaneers and Brady.

Miller will always be special to Bucs fans who remember that era and season, as he churned out a career best 501 receiving yards in 2020 when they won it all. His clutch touchdown catch in the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers will live forever in Bucs lore. He might not get back to those highs, but he'll always be remembered for his heroics that year.
