The Tampa Bay Buccaneers held their first session of OTAs this week, giving fans the first look at the 2026 team.

One of the biggest storylines in Tampa Bay is the wide receiver room following Mike Evans’ departure. Heading into his second year, Emeka Egbuka wasted no time putting on a show.

Egbuka is facing big expectations following his impressive rookie season where he caught 63 passes for 938 yards and six touchdowns.

After playing a variety of roles last year and not getting the chance to get comfortable in one spot, offensive coordinator Zac Robinson has revealed that Egbuka will have a permanent home as the starting “Z” receiver going forward.

Taking his first live reps in his new role, Egbuka wasted no time putting on a show, making a highlight reel one-handed catch on a pass from Baker Mayfield

It’s only one play, but it reminded fans of just how special Egbuka can be, and he certainly showed flashes last year.

It’s reminiscent of a highlight catch he had last year against the New York Jets, hauling in a one-handed pass with Sauce Gardner in coverage in what was only his third career game.

He might still be sharing targets in a crowded room with Chris Godwin, Jalen McMillan, Tez Johnson, and rookie Ted Hurst, but Egbuka has a legitimate shot to emerge as Mayfield’s top target this season.

With Egbuka stepping into an even bigger role this year, he’ll get plenty more opportunities to showcase his playmaking ability and make SportsCenter Top 10-worthy plays.
