The Tampa Bay Buccaneers boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.
That’s easy to forget after a nightmare injury situation led to a disastrous 2025 season up front in Tampa Bay. The Bucs didn’t play a single game with their starting five intact.
Left tackle Tristan Wirfs missed five games, while left guard Ben Bredeson and right tackle Luke Goedeke missed five games apiece. Right guard Cody Mauch suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2.
That left center Graham Barton as the only starting lineman who survived to play the entire season healthy.
But while Tampa Bay was forced to rely on backups and reserves for most of last season, don’t be fooled. When healthy, this is one of the best offensive lines in all of football. In fact, it might be the biggest strength on the Buccaneers’ roster.
Buccaneers’ offensive line ranked fourth-best in the NFL
Sharp Football Analysis released their offensive line rankings as part of their yearly positional ranking series, and the Buccaneers landed all the way up at No. 4.
"Tristan Wirfs remains one of the best tackles in the NFL, allowing just 2 sacks and 23 total pressures in 2025. The rest of the line dealt with injuries last year, but if the starters can stay healthy, this is an elite unit across the board."Sharp Football Analysis
Wirfs isn’t just the Bucs’ best lineman; he’s the best player on the team. He’s been named a Pro Bowler in five of his six seasons, and also has three All-Pro nods.
On the other side, Goedeke is emerging as one of the league’s best right tackles.
On the interior, Barton is an up-and-coming young center with first-round pedigree, while Mauch and Bredeson make for a rock-solid guard duo.
The health of this offensive line will make or break the upcoming season for Tampa Bay.
Protecting Baker Mayfield is the biggest key to success, and the offense can’t thrive if the quarterback is running for his life behind backups.
The makeshift offensive line was quietly one of the biggest reasons for the team’s struggles last season, but it often gets overlooked among the mountain of issues that led to the Bucs’ collapse.
But with better injury luck this season, the offense could return to the elite status it reached back in 2024 and once again finish as one of the league’s best. It all starts — and ends — with the big guys up front.
