It's been a busy week for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers adding coaches, but it ends with them losing one.
The Bucs ended their search for an offensive coordinator by hiring Zac Robinson, and while his staff is still being compiled, it won't include Brian Picucci. It's not the fact that the Bucs are losing a coach that is notable; it's how and where he'll be going.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Liam Coen is poaching Picucci away from the Buccaneers coaching staff. In Tampa Bay, he served as offensive line coach, but Pucucci will be the Jaguars' new run game coordinator and work with Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten.
Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Brian Picucci from Tampa Bay as their run game coordinator, per source. He and Jaguars HC Liam Coen worked together in Tampa in 2024 on an offense that finished third in total yards, fourth in points scored, and fourth in rushing.

It's a tough loss, but one that has fans sort of divided over how to feel about the move. Offensive line play has been decent in the grander scheme of things, but last season was a rough one for the unit protecting Baker Mayfield.
Injuries played a huge role in that, with guys like Cody Mauch and Luke Godeke missing significant time, with Tristan Wirfs not playing the first few weeks of the year. Picucci has been a key part of the offense working as much as it has the two seasons prior, though, and his familiarity with Coen is very notable.
Picucci was on Coen's staff in Tampa that helped turn the offense into one of the best in the league, and now he goes to Jacksonville in a key role to help what worked so well for the Jaguars continue improving.
It's not a stunning loss in the context of other coaching changes the Bucs made. Todd Bowles let a handful of assistants go earlier in the offseason, and Picucci leaving is less about him being part of the sea change and more about Robinson coming in and likely installing his own staff.
The bug question now is whether Picucci's exit is the beginning of other changes. The extra texture of this move -- beyond how it will impact the offensive line -- is Coen being involved with the Bucs' business for a second straight offseason.
