Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield continues to earn the respect of his NFL peers.
That became evident when he was voted onto the NFL’s Top 100 list for the second consecutive year.
Players around the league have consistently praised Mayfield’s moxie and win-at-all-costs attitude, and Maxx Crosby is the latest to give the Buccaneers quarterback his flowers.Â

“Sleeper one too: Baker Mayfield. He pissed me off, bro. I had like two of them I should’ve had on him. He lowkey ducked under and got out of there. I was f***ing livid.” pic.twitter.com/qgvNLGvwvg

Bucs fans are no strangers to Mayfield’s ability to break out of sacks and turn broken plays into big gains.Â
Gutsy call to go on 4th down deep in their own territory and Baker picks up the first!

He made “Mayfield Magic” happen countless times last season, including several in crunch time to miraculously keep the team alive in close games.Â
For a player of Crosby’s caliber to list Mayfield as one of the hardest quarterbacks to sack is the ultimate compliment.
Crosby has 69.5 sacks in his career, averaging about 10 sacks a season since being drafted in 2019. He’s one of the most dominant pass rushers in the league and doesn’t have much trouble bringing down opposing quarterbacks.
Mayfield, however, has been one of the exceptions, with Crosby recording just one sack in their four head-to-head matchups.Â
Elusiveness is one of Mayfield’s greatest qualities, and the Bucs are fortunate to have a quarterback that can so often make something out of nothing.
