Mike Evans might not be wearing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey anymore, but he can do his former team one last favor in 2026.
Mike Evans and the 49ers will face Bucs’ rival Falcons in 2026
The San Francisco 49ers will head to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Week 7, and Bucs fans will be watching intently. Â
Every game matters in the tight NFC South race. Last year, there was a three-way tie for first place between the Panthers, Bucs, Falcons — all at 8-9.
When Mike Evans returns to Atlanta, he won’t just be helping his new 49ers squad, but he can help the Bucs in their playoff push as well.
Evans has had a ton of success against the Falcons throughout his career. Last season, his best game of the year in his final season with Tampa Bay came against Atlanta, where Evans caught six passes for 132 yards.
Throughout his career, Evans has recorded 108 catches for 1,652 yards 13 touchdowns in 21 games versus the Falcons.Â
It’s a familiar foe for Evans, and one he’s dominated for years. He’s given Atlanta’s No. 1 cornerback A.J. Terrell fits over the past few seasons.
If he can do it again in 2026 and help lead the 49ers to a victory, it could go a long way in helping the Buccaneers win the NFC South and return to the postseason.
Bucs fans would surely be grateful for the boost, and they’d be happy to watch their former wide receiver tear up his former NFC South rival one last time.Â
