Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is the best available edge rusher on the open market, and despite the Raiders doing their best to make it seem like he won't be out there, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and other NFL teams have a clear hint that the Raiders actively listening.
That hint comes from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, who recently said, via Sleeper NFL, "It's fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls. Is there a world where he's traded in the next 7-10 days? I believe there is. Almost every player in the NFL has a price. I do not believe they want to trade him. Is it possible? Yes."
While Pelissero does maintain the Raiders line that they are not looking to trade Crosby at this time, it's clear that he is more than leaving the door open to the possibility of Crosby leaving Las Vegas. Other insiders, namely Jay Glazer, have reported that Crosby has made it clear to the Raiders brass that he wants out, so all the posturing by the Raiders GM that the club wants to keep Crosby is likely to maintain his trade value.
Maxx Crosby could be traded sooner than we think
The Raiders have also made it clear through NFL insider reports that they want a king's ransom akin to what the Dallas Cowboys received for Micah Parsons, who is a more dynamic and productive overall player.
But Crosby is also productive against both the pass and the run, recording yet another double-digit sack season in the 2025 campaign while boosting his tackles for loss and run defense despite being miserable on a putrid Raiders team, even playing hurt.
The Buccaneers have an opening to swoop in and go for Crosby, and the crazy part is that Pelissero even left it open for Crosby to be traded within a week. That speaks volumes to how active the situation is, and teams wouldn't be calling in a flurry to Las Vegas if they didn't sincerely believe Crosby can be moved.
Now, the Bucs have limited resources in terms of cap space, and the NFL Draft is loaded up on linebackers and other players the Bucs could use. So giving up a high amount of salary cap space and draft capital for one player is not the wisest. But the Bucs are also missing that marquee front seven player in his prime. Crosby is one of the few supersars fitting that bill for the Bucs.
