Details surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2026 schedule continue to emerge.

The latest leak from NerdingonNFL revealed another prime-time showing for Baker Mayfield and the Bucs — this time against the Dallas Cowboys.

Bucs get early prime-time opportunity vs Cowboys

The Buccaneers will travel to Dallas in Week 5, Thursday, October 8, to take on the Cowboys for Thursday Night Football.

The NFL really loves the Bucs-Cowboys matchup, with five of the teams’ last six regular-season matchups coming in prime time.

Dallas is the NFL’s biggest brand, and so they bring a lot of viewership as a result. They're not called "America's Team" for nothing. Going against them is a huge statement for the Buccaneers to put the league on notice and send the ultimate message in front of a national audience.

The Week 5 matchup will have some early playoff implications, as it could impact playoff seeding and also determine a wild card tiebreaker if both teams fail to win their respective divisions.

Dallas is 3-2 in the last five regular season meetings and 1-0 against Tampa Bay in the playoffs. The Cowboys have historically dominated the Buccaneers with a 17-6 all-time record. Their upcoming matchup gives the Bucs a chance to tip the scale more in their favor.

The teams are also already slated to play each other in 2027, so if they put on another good show in front of the national audience, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them get scheduled in prime time again a year from now.
