As two teams prepare for Super Bowl 59 this week, 30 others sit back and game plan how they can make the big stage a year from now. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only four years removed from a Super Bowl win over these same Kansas City Chiefs who are preparing to try and win their third-straight game on the biggest stage.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have had a heck of a run and they've been able to accomplish so much despite the franchise quarterback not even being 30 years old. It's been a historic run and the Chiefs still likely have another decade in front of them to try and secure more Lombardi Trophies.

But, one can't help but think back to Mahomes' only loss in the Super Bowl. Bucs fans, that is.

This week, players from both the Chiefs and Eagles have spent plenty of time chatting with media members and answering a variety of questions. Sure enough, one way or another, that Super Bowl loss to the Bucs was bound to come up in conversation.

More Bucs news:

Of the many topics covered during his time with the media this week, Mahomes was asked if he has one loss that keeps him up at night.

His answer was simple and to the point:

β€œThe Super Bowl vs. Tampa. Pretty easy.”

Tom Brady will always be able to one-up Patrick Mahomes in an argument that's not going away

Bucs fans should be tickled to learn that it was their team to make such a lasting imprint on the mind of a quarterback vying for the title "Greatest Of All-Time."

The GOAT, if you will.

Is Mahomes already a first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback? You bet. Is he already one of the top 10 or even top five to ever play the game at his position? That's certainly worth an argument as well.

Mahomes may be going for his fourth overall Super Bowl victory, but it's Tom Brady who still holds seven rings and 10 total Super Bowl appearances, himself. So, while Mahomes is set to star in his fifth appearance, he's still halfway to Brady's number of 10.

There are some who already want to put Mahomes ahead of Brady, which to be frank, is unfair to both quarterbacks for several reasons. But, in the end, Brady not only still has far more championships and appearances, but he has that lone head-to-head win over Mahomes in the big game.

No matter what happens, Brady will always be able to say he defeated Mahomes in the Super Bowl, and he did it at age 43.

Not too shabby for the old man.
