The greatest trick the Minnesota Vikings played on the world was convincing the New York Giants that Daniel Jones was a franchise quarterback. His Wild Card performance raised enough quesiton about his potential that the Giants invested in bringing him back.

It’s a decision that has completely backfired, and the failure to have consistent quarterback play at an NFL level has ripped the Giants season apart. There’s talent on the roster, and the front office made additions in the offseason that should have made the team a contender but everything has imploded thanks to Jones being incapable of leading the offense.

New York might be the most quarterback-needy team in the entire draft, let alone the Top 5, and Drake Maye is a thirst quencher for a franchise that is absolute parched. Brian Daboll proved he could coach a bad quarterback up last year with Jones, but now he’ll get to reset and build something from the ground up much in the same way he did with Josh Allen in Buffalo.

If Olu Fashanu is on the board the Giants might be tempted to take him and hope for a second-round QB, but if Maye is still here then it’s an absolute no-brainer. New York is a candidate to trade up to No. 1 and take Caleb Williams, there’s no way this franchise isn’t taking a quarterback.
