3 things Bucs need to do now that Mike Evans is signed
Re-sign Baker Mayfield
Now that Mike Evans is back, the Bucs need to make sure that he has a viable quarterback throwing the ball to him. Evans did well with Baker Mayfield as his signal-caller in 2023 and the two have expressed interest in continuing to work together down the road.
With Mayfield not getting the franchise tag in Tampa, he'll be free to sign wherever he wants to this offseason and Bucs fans are hoping that's back with the Buccaneers this year. Mayfield looked to be the definition of a draft bust after going first overall in 2018 but not living up to his first overall hype. He spent the 2022 season with two different teams but looked the best he's looked since college during his 2023 campaign in Tampa, throwing for over 4,000 yards for the first time in his career while also tossing 28 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.
The hope is that if Evans agreed to come back to Tampa Bay that a deal with Mayfield is hopefully in the works soon as well.
