Alvin Kamara is returning from suspension

While it was easy to laugh at the way New Orleans fell apart against the Packers, they were down a rather significant weapon that could have changed the things. Alvin Kamara missed the first three games serving a suspension for his role in an assault that took place in Las Vegas back in 2022.

That suspension is over, and Kamara is making his season debut at home against an opponent he’s eaten alive over the course of his career. In 11 career games against the Bucs, Kamara is averaging 90 total yards and a touchdown per game, and he’s due for another monster performance.

His last two games against the Bucs have been largely been duds, as Kamara turned in less than 30 yards on the ground and barely reached double digits in receiving yards. The last time that happened was back in 2020 and Kamara responded by going for over 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground over his next two games against the Bucs.

Just five days prior to going up against Kamara, the Bucs were gashed for 130 yards on the ground by De’Andre Swft as the Eagles collectively steamrolled Tampa Bay’s run defense. Philly finished the night with 201 rushing yards and averaged five yards per carry.

That’s something Kamara and the Saints offense has to be licking its chops about.
