Buccaneers Run Defense

At one point this season, the Buccaneers had one of the best run defenses in the entire league. That feels like ages ago, and Sunday was yet another poor performance.

Zack Moss and Jonathan Taylor absolutely gashed the Bucs defense, finishing the day with a combined 146 yards and two touchdowns. All broadcast long the CBS crew kept commenting on how this was the best game out of the Colts run game in quite some time and was a sort of bounce-back game for a tandem that ran all over Tampa Bay and helped keep the offense off the field.

This comes just two weeks after the Bucs held Derrick Henry to under 25 yards. Despite how bad things have been the Bucs still entered Sunday with a Top 5 run defense but have now allowed over 100 yards in back-to-back games.

SirVocea Dennis and Devin White both failed to fill gaps and missed tackles all over the place killed the Bucs and helped the Colts extend drives that should have been brought to an end. Indianapolis had 12 rushing first downs in the win, with Taylor and Moss running over the defense so much that it led to easy play-action fakes to convert fourth downs.

It was an embarrassing performance all around for the Bucs run defense.
