Football is back, but anyone expecting a clean game when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field will be sorely mistaken.

Hopefully the actual play of the offense is going to be clean, as Liam Coen was hired to replace Dave Canales and take things to another level. Conditions, however, are going to be a completely different situation.

Somehow we managed to escape two preseason games without a weather delay, which means we're due for something to happen in Week 1. A storm is certainly brewing, as Tampa has been hammered with rain this past week and there's more on the way after the Bucs kick off on Sunday.

Buccaneers-Commanders weather report is bad news for fans in attendance

It might not be super wet at kickoff but the rain is going to come at some point during the game. Tempratures are supposed to be in the 100s as far as Real Feel is considered, and that thick pre-storm humidity will be hanging in the air.

That's bad news for the offenses, specifically Baker Mayfield and the Bucs.

After last season, there's a ton of pressure on Liam Coen to build on what Dave Canales started and Baker has higher expectations after getting $100 million. Improvement is the name of the game this year, and everything seems to be lined up for that to happen; MIke Evans is back, Chris Godwin is looking to have a breakout season, and the run game is finally in a position to bounce back.

Bad weather won't make things run smoothly, though, which is why keeping an eye on the sky will be important to ensuring what happens on the field goes well. We all saw how sloppy the game against the Panthers was last year when the Bucs offense had to battle both Carolina's defense and a downpour.

It's a two way street, as the Commanders will have to deal with the same exact thing and do so with a rookie quarterback. Tampa Bay's defensive line has been zapped by injuries, and it could be that the bad weather actually plays into their favor.
