5 Buccaneers facing crucial 2023 training camp

If Trask was on this list, you knew Baker Mayfield would make his way here as well. Both of these quarterbacks are high on the list of players who need to have big, big summers. In a weird way, this training camp could have a gigantic impact on both of these guys' futures.

But, as a former first overall pick, Mayfield has to be feeling far more pressure than Trask. This summer is going to end up telling us a lot about Mayfield and where his career could be headed. If he balls out, earns the job and the trust of his teammates and coaches, then we could see sunshine and rainbows in Tampa for, maybe, a few years even.

But, if he struggles and makes it a real competition between he and Trask, then people will have their doubts as to whether his college success and early NFL success was more of a flash in the pan than a consistent trend.

Mayfield has all the weapons he needs to have a successful camp and 2023 season. It's there. He is set up better than he's been in any of his other stops early on in his career, whether we're talking Cleveland, Carolina or Los Angeles. This is on him. This summer, it's all on Baker to prove he has plenty left.
