Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Over the years, Michigan has produced several NFL-quality tight ends who had decent professional careers. Jake Butt, Zach Gentry, Luke Schoonmaker, and AJ Barne come to mind as the Wolverines' latest tight end projects, along with 2024 Day three selection Erick All, who got his start at Michigan.

With all due respect to those players, none were to the caliber of Loveland during their time at Ann Arbor, who is just a rising junior in 2024. Loveland, a 6'5", 245 pound do-it-all tight end, has been nothing short of excellent in his first two seasons as a Wolverine.

As a true freshman in 2023, Loveland flashed promise and poise on offense, notching 16 catches for 235 yards and two scores in 14 games. While his impact may have not been showed through his stats, Loveland was one of the offense’s most dynamic, reliable weapons, and a driving force for the team’s national championship run.

In 2023, Loveland was arguably the most improved player in Michigan, catching 45 passes for 649 yards and four touchdowns in 15 starts, while posting seven 50+ yard games, including a 64-yard outing against Washington in the National Championship.

Following the season, Loveland was named as an All-Big Ten First Team selection from the coaches, and a Second Team selection by the players and media. Not only that, but Loveland joined Johnson as the only Wolverines to make the Walter Camp All-American preseason First Team, showing just how great Loveland may become in his third season at Ann Arbor.
