5 players Buccaneers should target to replace Sua Opeta after torn ACL

Tampa Bay has several options in free agency and the trade market that they can add to help offset the loss of Opeta at left guard.

Ben Bredeson

Unlike the other players listed, Bredeson represents an in-house option for Tampa Bay.

Bredeson, like Opeta, was signed by the Bucs to a one-year contract in free agency and does come to Tampa Bay after starting on the Giants' offensive line.

Last season, Bredeson showed that he was capable of playing all three interior line positions, making eight starts at right guard, four at left guard and four at center. Similar to Glowinski, Bredeson struggled last season on New York's atrocious offensive line, as he allowed four holding penalties and earned a 42.1 PFF grade, both career-worsts.

While Bredeson will likely slot in at left guard with Opeta being sidelined, Bredeson's versatility at center and right guard is quite valuable in terms of depth on the offensive line. Bredeson would be a fine replacement for Opeta at left guard, but it shouldn't be the Bucs' only move to their offensive line, and should instead look at signing one of the likes of Glowinski, Cole, or Williams in free agency, or trading for Robinson.
