Watch: Trey Palmer makes another highlight reel catch (Video)
By Josh Hill
Another week, another Trey Palmer highlight reel catch.
In all three of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason games this year, Palmer has done something to quite literally catch attention. He was on the receiving end of Baker Mayfield’s first touchdown pass and followed that a week later with a tip drill touchdown catch from Kyle Trask.
He was back at it in the Bucs preseason finale.
Palmer went for the trifecta on Saturday against the Ravens, reeling in a catch that once again proves he might be one of the best steals of the draft.

The catch helped set up a touchdown pass from Trask to tight end David Wells, which further emphasizes the serious nature of Palmer’s talent.
It’s one thing for Palmer to make these catches, as they’re impressive on a pure entertainment level. The fact that they’re not only cool to watch but actively helping set the offense up in a good position is why he has likely played himself into the WR3 role.
Anyone not yet familiar with Palmer might want to brush up before the season starts. He was a sixth round pick for the Bucs back in April but it’s catches the one he had on Saturday — plus the other ones he’s had this preseason — that make him seem more like a Top 100 prospect instead of a Day 3 pick.
Even before camp started he was getting praise from new offensive coordinator Dave Canales, and he’s delivered in basically every way.
Without Russell Gage, the Bucs need to find someone to ride alongside Mike Evans and Chris Godwin this year. Palmer might be a Day 3 rookie on paper, but he’s already developing into an absolute stud for the Bucs and looks like an important part of the offense moving forward.
