Tampa Bay Buccaneers football is finally back in our lives.

The team have never left our hearts, and there’s been plenty of action to keep us busy over the offseason, but the throat clearing ahead of the regular season has officially started. Tampa Bay will kick off its preseason schedule on Saturday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, one of two road games the Bucs will play this month.

It’s not a game that will define the Bucs’ season by any means, but Saturday night will give us our first good look at the players who could have a big impact on the team this year. Last season we saw undrafted rookies like Christian Izien and Sean Tucker shine in the preseason, while the rookie class stepped up in a big way throughout the year.

Yaya Diaby, Trey Palmer, and Payne Durham all had big moments in their rookie season, and Izien played his way into a starting role on the final roster at the end of August. This year the Bucs are bringing another stellar rookie class to camp and have a handful of intriguing UDFAs who could follow in Izien’s footsteps.

All of that starts tonight, when we get our first good look at a Buccaneers team that is ready to once again prove all of the doubters wrong.

Buccaneers vs. Bengals start time and location

Saturday’s preseason opener for the Buccaneers will take them all the way up to Cincinnati. The game will be played at Paycor Stadium, which will be Tampa Bay’s road game against the Bengals since 2018.

It’s been even longer since the Bucs have beaten the Bengals, as their last victory came back in 2010 — not including the preseason.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET, weather permitting. Things are looking pretty good for the game to get started on time, though, as the only dicey games will be the ones back in Florida where an inevitable lightning delay is bound to occur.
