For the third time in a calendar year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Detroit Lions, but for the first time, they'll be trying to get a win.
Detroit swept the Bucs last year, with a crippling Week 6 win that was followed by a much closer showdown in the NFC Divisional Round. The Lions won both times, and it seems like things might be headed toward a threepeat this week.
Tampa Bay hobbles up to Ford Field having won its first game of the season while having lost a number of key players. Antoine Winfield Jr., Luke Goedeke, and Calijah Kancey are all out, and the secondary is even more limited than it was against Washington.
That's going to get tricky, considering how good the Lions' offense has been, but it doesn't mean the Bucs are screwed. Rather than rely on the defense to hold things down, this could be a showcase for Baker Mayfield and the offense to come out and carry the load.

Buccaneers vs. Lions TV channel
For those who are planning on watching the game on television, or want a combo of muting the announcers and listening to the radio, here's everything you need to know:
- Date: Sunday, September 15, 2024
- Start Time: 1 pm ET
- Location: Ford Field | Detroit, MI
- TV Channel: FOX
- Announcers: Kevin Kugler, Daryl Johnston
- Live Stream: NFL Sunday Ticket | Fubo
- Radio: WXTB 97.9 FM | More Radio Affiliates
Sunday will mark back-to-back weeks where the Buccaneers have the same announcing crew in the FOX booth. Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston were on the call for Tampa Bay's win last week, so hopefully that's an omen that things will turn out the same way.
Of course, that talking will have to be done on the field.
Like last week, and unlike last year's matchup between these two teams, only a fraction of the country can see the action. FOX doesn't have a doubleheader, which means the Bucs game will air in local markets and will be the only game that will be aired.
Don't worry, there will still be plenty of football over on CBS. Bucs fans won't have to worry about the early game, which will be the Jaguars-Browns game, with the Chiefs-Bengals game being the nationally broadcast late game.
How to stream Buccaneers vs. Lions in Week 2
Cable isn't the only way to watch the game on Sunday, as Bucs fans can use a few different streaming options to catch the action. Folks in the greater Tampa-St. Petersburg area can use the FOX Sports Go app or Fubo to stream the game, as well as Hulu Live TV.
Fans out-of-market can watch the game on NFL Sunday Ticket, which will be the only option available to them.
