5 winners (and 2 losers) from Buccaneers 21-18 win over Panthers
By Josh Hill
Winner: Rachaad White, RB
It feels like ages ago that we were starting to seriously wonder if Rachaad White had what it takes to be a weapon on offense for the Bucs.
Oh how wrong we all were.
For the second straight week, White finished the game with over 100 total yards and continued to make an impact in both the rushing and passing game. The fact that he found some giddy-up in the former is one of the most impressive things he’s been able to do recently, as he’s made the most out of absolutely nothing in the run game.
White went for 100 yards last week against the Colts and would have done it again had he not displayed some high football IQ late in the game. With under two minutes left, White opted to not barrel in for a breakaway touchdown and instead give himself up to ensure the Bucs could run out the clock.
He got to 100 yards in our hearts, at least.
That play was a perfect example of the type of player White has developed into over the course of the year. He’s fully settled into his role and has become a second option for the Bucs on offense. If Tampa Bay can find a way to properly use Chris Godwin, imagine how high-octane the offense could be as the season begins to turn around.
