4. Detroit Lions
Finally, the Detroit Lions could have been a team in on Evans. This would have been interesting, as the two teams met in the playoffs just a few weeks ago.
Jared Goff isn't necessarily an "elite" quarterback like Evans had preferred to play with, but he's playing at a high enough level to where it would have made sense. That offense will continue to be led by Ben Johnson, too, which means the world to Detroit.
Josh Reynolds is a free agent, and if the Lions wanted to let him go and replace him with Evans, it would have created a nightmare duo between Evans and Amon-Ra St. Brown. You would have had one of the best outside receivers in the game paired with one of the best route-running, possession guys in the league.
In a division that could see the no. 1 pick Caleb Williams come in and change the landscape of the NFC North, Evans would have done a heck of a job keeping the Lions at the top, for the time being.
Alas, Evans is staying with the Bucs and all is right with the world.
