We're just days away from the NFL season starting, but teams are still working tirelessly to make sure their rosters are in as good of shape as possible.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the first team to set its 53-man roster this year, but in doing so, cut some potentially impactful players loose in the process. Keenan Isaac and John Wolford were both scooped up by other teams, but the Bucs also dipped into the pool of players that teams let go to help fill things out.

It's not just the Bucs who are trying to tweak things and get everything set, and it extends beyond just front offices trying to be active. Thousands of players were pushed off rosters all over the league and the battle to land work continues as the beginning of the season nears.

One of those players is former Buccaneers starting running back Leonard Fournette, who could be close to landing with his third team in two years.

Leonard Fournette is visiting the Colts ahead of Week 1

ESPN's Adam Schedger reported on Labor Day that Fournette was visiting with the Indianapolis Colts hoping to find some work.

Fournette spent time with the Buffalo Bills last season after the Bucs granted him a release last Feburary. After Tom Brady retired, Fournette was one of the first veterans to become cap casualities although it was a mutual decision for the two side to part ways.

That's how he ended up in Buffalo but it was a long journey to get there. The same can now be said about his potential stint with the Colts, which seems like an ideal situation for both parties involved. He wasn't able to work his way into a running back rotation with the Bills, but the idea of having Fournette alongside Jonathan Taylor and Trey Sermon is one that feels like a situation where he could have an impact.

While the Bucs run game has been putrid for the last few years, Fournette is -- and should be -- best remembered for his role in helping the Tampa Bay win a Super Bowl in 2020. His transformation into Playoff Lenny remains iconic stuff, and is a testament to his talent.

That's what the Colts are hoping to tap back into, and Fournette finding work in the 11th hour before the season starts feels like a real possiblity.
