How to listen to Buccaneers vs. Commanders Week 1 game on the radio
By Josh Hill
The wait for Tampa Bay Buccaneers football to return to our lives if finally over.
Six long months have passed since we last watched the team play a game that counted, and the march toward returning to where things left off — and beyond — begins this afternoon. The Bucs will take on the Washington Commanders in what doubles as a season opener and a triumphant return for one of the NFC’s best and most underrated teams.
Last year the Bucs went from a team that was expected to tank for a top draft pick to one that ended its season in the NFC Divisional Round. Because of that, Jason Licht spent the offseason bringing back guys like Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, and Lavonte David, while making Antoine Winfield Jr. and Tristan Wirfs the highest paid players at their positions.
Even guys who used to play in Tampa Bay made their way back, as Jordan Whitehead returns after spending the last few seasons in New York with the Jets. All of the pieces are in place for the Bucs to not only run the success of last season back but build upon it even further.
That journey begins on Sunday afternoon against the Commanders, and it’s hopefully the beginning of another thrilling season for the Buccaneers.
