Ranking NFC South head coaches before 2024 free agency

1. Todd Bowles (Buccaneers)

It's doubtful that Todd Bowles would be the best head coach in any other division but that shows you how rough it's been for the NFC South in recent years. The Bucs finished with a losing record in 2022 but made the playoffs anyway because the rest of the division was even worse.

Bowles might not be the greatest head coach around but one thing Bucs fans can give him a ton of credit for is how solid his defenses have been. While the offense leaves things to be desired at times, the defense has balled out and definitely played a major part in getting them to another division title and playoff win.

We'll know more about the newcomers to the NFC South (if you can even call Morris an NFC South newbie) when next season comes to a close but right now, these feel like accurate rankings for the head coaches in the division. Some might put Dennis Allen above Raheem Morris but with Morris' arrow pointing up and Allen's pointing down, I felt that the rankings should reflect that.
