We've got a Bucs quarterback love triangle going on... or something like that.

By now, most fans have seen the exchange of words between Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and former Bucs quarterback Tom Brady over this past weekend.

It all started when Mayfield made some comments on a podcast about how Brady used to run the locker room, essentially saying that some of the guys were stressed out in that environment. These former teammates of Brady's were now Mayfield's teammates, so the veteran was simply speaking out about what he had heard.

Mayfield's comments, to be exact, were as follows: "They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren't having as much fun."

Then, during the live broadcast of the Bucs/Eagles game in Week 4, Brady fired back at Mayfield with comments of his own:

"I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings. So, there was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn't daycare. If I wanted to have fun I was going to go to Disneyland with my kids," Brady said.

Mayfield did clear up any potential controversy after the game, saying that his comments were never intended to be personal. And, hopefully, this would put the mini controversy to bed.

Not so much.

Ryan Fitzpatrick goes to bat for Baker Mayfield on social media

After hearing Brady's words, one former Bucs quarterback quickly took to social media in defense of Mayfield. It was every NFL fan's favorite backup quarterback, Mr. Fitzmagic himself, Ryan Fitzpatrick:

"Sick burn Tom Brady way to cut Baker Mayfield down to size….cant believe he has had the nerve to win over the Bucs locker room and fans with his playing style and personality," Fitzpatrick posted.

Well, it doesn't seem like this is going away anytime soon, so we're just going to let it all unfold between whomever decides to try and get in the middle of it next.

As for Mayfield and the current Bucs, what matters most is that they were able to come away with a dominating win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, disallowing the Eagles to get their revenge over the Bucs from last year's playoff dismantling.

Mayfield is once again playing good football this year, and went for 347 yards with a pair of touchdown passes against Philly. The former no. 1 overall pick also added a rushing score, his second on the year, giving him 10 touchdowns total in four games.

Next up, Mayfield and the Bucs get a prime time matchup with a division rival, the Atlanta Falcons, on Thursday Night Football.
