Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans have very much enjoyed watching the fall of the New Orleans Saints in recent years. While the Saints haven't been a total laughing stock, they haven't won the division since the 2020 season and have been pretty inept offensively since Sean Payton stepped away and went to Denver.
Fortunately for the Bucs, it's looking as though the Saints will continue to struggle offensively this upcoming season, especially in the rushing attack. First and foremost, Alvin Kamara hasn't been present at training camp recently, likely because he wants a new deal.
Behind Kamara on the depth chart are Jamaal Williams, Keandre Miller, James Robinson, Jordan Mims, and Jacob Kibodi. Out of these names, Bucs fans probably at least know Williams and Robinson from previous successful stints elsewhere but neither player is at the top of his game anymore.
Enter what could be one of the funniest things Bucs fans have had the pleasure of witnessing: Taysom Hill being one of the best running options for New Orleans. According to Matthew Paras, Hill could end up being second in rushing yards for the Saints.
"If you told me Taysom Hill will be the second leading rusher on this team, Iād believe you. A heavy Taysom day." Paras wrote on X following the Saints' practice on Friday.
Bucs fans can't wait to see how abysmal Saints RB room is in 2024
The Saints aren't the Bucs' biggest competition in the NFC South anymore with that honor now belonging to the Atlanta Falcons but it's still fun to laugh at them and their misfortunes. If Hill really does end up being the second-leading rusher for the Saints in 2024, that's just embarrassing for New Orleans.
Hill originally joined the Saints as a quarterback and Sean Payton was obsessed with taking snaps away from Drew Brees so that Hill could throw an interception. Eventually, Hill turned into more of an offensive weapon and these days is listed as a tight end. A tight end finishing with more rushing yards than running backs who were expected to contribute would be downright hilarious.
Please Saints, let this funny thing happen and keep us all laughing.
